Chris and Porsha are high school sweethearts. It is the age old tale of friends that become life long partners. They had a number of classes together throughout the years and as time went on, they developed an intertwined web of friends. After attending a number of group events separately, they became close and started dating during their senior year.
In Fall of 2007, Porsha and Chris attended their school’s homecoming dance together as friends.
Then in 2008 they went to their senior prom as a couple. They continued on with a long distance relationship for their first year of college. In 2010 Porsha transferred to USF. She and Chris bought their first apartment in Tampa.
During the Spring and Summer of 2014, Chris had concocted an elaborate plan to ask Porsha for her hand in marriage. Chris secretly arranged a double-date with their friends Caitlin and Derek in order to mislead Porsha– after all, who proposes while on a date? Chris did. After a wonderful dinner at The Rusty Pelican, they took a walk down to the gazebo on the water (the same one they’ll be married in). Chris asked Porsha to pose for a few pictures, and when she turned around, he was on one knee with a small box in his hands. “I have to ask you a question,” he said. Porsha immediately began tearing up with happiness. Chris opened the box, revealed the ring, and asked “Porsha Michelle Lemos, will you marry me?” Porsha, now hysterical, took the ring, slid it onto her finger and threw her arms around him. “You know, you still have to answer me,” he said. “Yes, absolutely yes!” was Porsha’s reply.. and the rest is history.
After seven years together, we have shared love and loss, celebrated victories small and large. We watched our friends become couples, husbands and wives, mothers and fathers. And now we are happy to invite you to share in our celebration of love as we become husband and wife.
